The purchaser has the option to terminate the policy after taking over. In this situation, the transferor is entitled to a refund for the unused period of cover.

Third party liability insurance is automatically renewed for another year. This is prescribed by Polish law. If you wish to cancel your contract at the end of its term, you must send us a notice of termination, which should include: Name, vehicle registration number, policy number, handwritten signature.

Notice of termination should be received no later than one day before the end date of the contract. If the notice of termination is received after the deadline, the contract will be renewed for another year.

A specimen document can be found here. If the document is sent by post, the postmark date is regarded as the date of the notice of termination.

Legal basis: Art. 28 of the Act of 22 May 2003 on compulsory insurance, the Insurance Guarantee Fund and the Polish Motor Insurers' Bureau (Dz. U. of 16 July 2003, No. 124, item 1152, as amended).

If the contract was concluded over the telephone or the Internet, you can withdraw from it within 30 days counting from the day on which you receive confirmation from the insurance company that the contract was concluded. In order to effectively terminate an insurance contract concluded in this way, you only need to provide us with a personally signed statement.
